Dwumfour, a native of Newark, was chosen to serve on the Borough of Sayreville’s council for the first time in November 2021.
Before receiving a Women’s Studies degree from William Paterson University in 2017, she completed her high school education in Newark.
She had allegedly been a resident of the Middlesex County region for more than five years at the time of her election.
She opted to leave her hometown of Newark to provide her kid with a better life.
Dwumfour was given an honorable mention on InsiderNJ’s 2022 African American Power List a few months after winning the council election.

According to authorities, a Sayreville, New Jersey, councilwoman, age 30, was discovered deceased in her car on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, just after 7 o’clock, police found Republican councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Officials from Middlesex County claim that Dwumfour was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to CNN station WABC, Dwumfour was shot in her automobile close to her home. The car then accelerated down the road and struck several parked cars, according to the station.
Victoria Kilpatrick, the mayor of Sayreville, expressed her sorrow and sadness at learning of Dwumfour’s passing, stating she was “taken from us by a heinous criminal act.” She wrote that she and Dwumfour collaborated closely on the council.

Bob Hugin, the chairman of New Jersey Republican Party, released a statement expressing his “horror and profound grief” over her death.
