According to an arrest affidavit, Nate Fancher, the principal of St. Cloud High School, is charged with criminal mischief for allegedly keying a car in a Publix parking lot.
According to the affidavit, surveillance video from the parking lot showed a guy, later identified as Fancher, dragging his left arm behind him as he walked the whole length of a 2012 Toyota 4-Runner while holding his shopping bag in his right hand.
When deputies tried to communicate with Fancher at his House, he responded that he was out of the country and would be back on Tuesday via his Ring doorbell.

Nate Fancher Arrest And Charge
Nate Fancher, the principal of St. Cloud High School, was detained on Tuesday and charged with criminal mischief in relation to a car keying incident that happened last Thursday in a Publix parking lot, according to St. Cloud Police.
St. Cloud Police were called to the Publix on Old Canoe Creek Rd and 13th Street after a victim reported that someone had “keyed” the entire side of her car, according to an arrest affidavit given to Positively Osceola.
A middle-aged white male wearing a black jacket, tan jeans, and a shaven head approached the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot, as seen on surveillance footage of the area.
The man is seen on camera shifting his shopping bag from his left to his right hand before turning to face the car’s passenger side.
The man is then captured on camera walking the entire length of the car’s passenger side while dragging his left arm behind him.
According to the arrest document, the man then appeared to be viewing the side of the automobile again before turning around and eventually walking away from the camera.
He later returned. Over $3000 has been assessed as the cost of the vehicle’s damage.
Is St. Cloud High School Principal Nate Fancher In Jail?
Fancher bonded out of jail Tuesday evening. According to the affidavit, Fancher had questioned the Police who arrived at his home about whether they could get in touch with the victims to collect payment for the damage.
Whether he could avoid being arrested and have the charges filed with the state attorney’s office in lieu of an arrest, and whether he could avoid having his picture taken.
After speaking with the police, Fancher called the school resource office at St. Cloud High School and admitted he “keyed a car in the Publix parking lot” and enquired about “how much trouble” he was in, according to the affidavit.
Fancher was detained on Tuesday as he met with officers at the Police station. He is accused of criminal mischief, having caused more than $1,000 in damage.
The school informed parents in a letter: “Mr. Fancher will be on administrative leave from the school until the outcome of the law enforcement investigation and accompanying actions are finalized.”
The school stated that because the incident is a law enforcement matter, it will not go into detail.
