Barcelona have joined Arsenal and Napoli in the top five leagues in Europe to become part of the three teams to reach 50 points in 19 games.
Arsenal, who are currently on top of the Premier League table, have the same points as Barcelona in the La Liga. Arsenal have only lost one match, and that was against Manchester United in the Premier League.
Napoli, which sits on top of the Serie A league table, had 50 points before defeating AS Roma to extend their lead to 53 points. The Napoli team has been dominating Serie A this season and are likely to win the title at the end of the season.
Barcelona defeated Real Betis in La Liga to achieve the point and extend the gap between them and Real Madrid.
Barcelona currently sits in first place with 50 points, followed by Real Madrid, who are in second place with 42 points after 18 matches.
Catalonia had won 16 matches, drawn two, and lost to their bitter rival Real Madrid in the previous El Clasico.
The Barcelona team is capable of winning the league with Xavi Hernandez’s different and dominating style of play. The Catalonia are in all competitions and can win the quadruple at the end of the season.
How Barcelona Defeated Real Betis In The La Liga
In the first half, Barcelona missed two chances, which came through Raphinha and Pedri, the two attackers were unable to beat Real Betis goalkeeper Rui Silva.
Raphinha had his goal chalked out for offside. Pedri missed a big opportunity to put Barcelona ahead. Gavi also failed to convert an easy header, which went wide.
Due to Barcelona’s nice pressing ability, Real Betis sat back and could only threaten Barcelona with a counterattack.
However, none of the Real Betis shots were able to get through Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen due to their well-composed defense.
Barcelona were the better team and had created more opportunities than their opponents. It was a totally one-sided match in the first half.
The Spanish giant came into the second half with the same energy and more confidence on the ball.
The team scored the first goal in the 20th minute of the second half after Frenkie De Jong’s quick pass to Alejandro Balde, who squared the ball to Raphinha to score.
Real Betis couldn’t disturb the Catalonia at the back as Gavi and Pedri moved the ball around quickly.
With 10 minutes left in the match, Barcelona got its second goal of the match after Robert Lewandowski pounced on a rebound from Jules Koundé’s header.
The Polish striker already has 13 goals this season.
Xavi team seemed to be in control until Kounde scored an own goal, which brought Real Betis back into the game. However, Barcelona were the ones who ended the match with three points.
